With winter upon us, many of us are excited to curl up in front of the fireplace, turn on a holiday movie, and sip on some hot cocoa. For a little extra zing, some of us might be tempted to add a shot of peppermint schnapps to the hot cocoa. This is totally okay as long as you are of age and plan to stay home for the rest of the evening. However, the winter season – especially during December – usually means parties galore and you might find yourself attending several. If this is the case, we recommend that you do not drink and drive. Drunk driving accidents happen way too often, and we do not want you to become another statistic this holiday season. To help you avoid being involved in a drunk driving accident, we have a few tips for you.

Do Not Drink and Drive

Even if the party is only a couple miles from home and you have one drink, we do not recommend driving. All it takes is one drink to impair your judgment and motor skills. Most parties will have some delicious and fun non-alcoholic options, so enjoy those if you are planning to drive home.

Bring Along a Friend as a Designated Driver

Most of us have friends who are love and care for us, and they will be more than happy to be your designated driver and keep you safe. If you are able to bring a plus one to your next holiday event, bring your friend!

Hire a Taxi

Most of us have a taxi service’s number on our phone, so give them a call if you plan to drink at the next party.

From all of us here at Poulin Auto Sales, have a safe holiday season!
